She gently took her granddaughters hand. “What’s done is done”, she said firmly. "At least Nate wasn't badly hurt. Next time you feel frustrated that Nate is talking properly just have a little patience with him. Don't hit him upside the head with the broom!"
Kadria took a couple steps away from her grandmother. Head bowed. "Are you going to punish me?"
"No, watching you apologize to Nate was punishment enough for you but I am going to tell your parents what you did.
Her grandmother walked and set in her favorite spot on the redwood deck The porch swing. She nodded at her granddaughter. "Come and sit with me Kadira".
Kadria slowly walked over and stood by her grandmother for a moment and than sat down.
“My granddaughter never let the light withinyou fail. It was given to you by the angels. It’s your light of hope”, she
smiled. “Did I ever tell you that when you were born three stars fell down from heaven?”
The little girl tired to ignore the questions. "But grandmother you still have explained why Nate hates me so much?"
Her grandmother looked back at her with anxious eyes. "Kadria child! Nate does hate you he does all those stupid thing to you because he like you".
Kadria shrugged. "Well I don't like him. He slow and his stupid. He never gets a complete word out of his mouth that makes sense. That's why I hit him with the broom".
Her grandmother smiled. "Nate talks like that's because he likes you so much. So why don't you try not calling him names and try and get along. Okay?"

Jennifer was exasperated. She had calling Matthew every ten minutes for the last hour.
She heard the telephone line click.
"Hi Jennifer what's got your panties in a bunch?" Matthew barked.
"Oh Matthew",  Jennifer said sadly. "Haven't you heard?  Jeff is in the hospital?"
"No!", Mathhew cried out. "Jesus......No! Please not that". He screamed into the phone.
Jennifer let Matthew vent his sadness for several moments.
"Stop it Matt".
He choked out a sob. "It's all my fault. I ...."
"No it's not your fault. Look its going to be alright. His mother is at the hospital with him. She said his injuries weren't serious".
"What happen?" Matthew asked softly.

Ponder This!

What goes around comes around.

Work like you don't need the money.
Love like you've never been hurt.
Dance like nobody's watching.
Sing like nobody's listening.
Live like it's Heaven on Earth.

I decided I'd stay I fight

"I just can’t give up now. This road wasn’t easy. But I did follow the yellow brick road just like you told me.  That last people hill wasn't easy to climb. And there were mean, ugly, and nasty people along the way", the young girl sighed bitterly. "But I decided I would stay and continue?"
The angel shook his head. " Good, then ease on down the road Maggie Mae. Life is always a fight up the ugly people hill. But others have made it climbing up the ugly nasty people hill we call those who cause pain to others.  In the end they have to face  the pain they caused in their lies. And in the end they lose something far greater. They lose their souls".
Maggie Mae smiled at the angel. "I will keep going then. You brought me this far.  I know you won't leave me".
The angel's caring eyes beamed. "Continue on your journey, Maggie Mae. I will never leave you. At the end of your road you will see a rainbow. Continue on the Thin Man and the Fat Lion will be waiting. And don't forget to carry Toto".

I remember when I called you friend

All at once I see it clearly though my vision. It is another time.  I see back as my eyes gazed upon my vision. I smile softly as I look into your eyes. It was a time long ago when I called you friend.  Your smile beamed back at me way back then. Your eyes were kind, caring and tender to be hold.  We’d talk for hours and never grew tired of the tales that we told each other. I can remember how some tales we told over and over, again. We never grew tired of listening. Just like old friends are suppose to.  Now I look back now across the miles I try to recall your face. I look closely trying to see. You cheek, you nose, your eyes and that funny way you used to grin. So long ago it seems, that time, way back when. You made me smile and I called you my friend.  I remember now once upon a time when I called you friend.

My Grandmother's Hand
